Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. served as the Program Management Consultant (PMC) for the Fort Bend Westpark Tollway from the Grand Parkway (SH 99) to FM 1464. The 6.5-mile extension of the Tollway was designed and constructed under the direction of the Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority (FBCTRA). The project consisted of a four-lane, fully automated (Automated Vehicle Identification, AVI) tollway and two-lane eastbound and westbound frontage roads. As PMC, Brown & Gay was responsible for overseeing final schematics, environmental clearance, public involvement, traffic engineering, right of way documents, control of access, geotechnical testing, drainage analysis, toll collection facilities, and construction phase services. Coordination and monitoring of all contracts and design efforts of the Section Design Consultants (SDCs) ensured compliance with design standards, project schedules, and cost controls. Utility relocations, construction inspections, and construction activities coordination were managed during construction with the general contractor and the toll facility contractor.
