Traffic Engineering: BriarLake Plaza Travel Time Study, Houston, TX
Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. conducted a travel time study for the proposed BriarLake Plaza office building development located on the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8) at Briar Forest in Houston, Texas. The study included travel time measurements between the site and selected residential areas and business centers in the Houston area. The data was utilized to generate travel time contour graphs that visually show how far (in travel time) the various destinations are from the development.
The study concluded that the travel time to BriarLake Plaza from 9 of the 12 major residential areas was less than 25 minutes. The three most remote neighborhoods, Clear Lake/NASA, The Woodlands and Kingwood, were between 34 and 40 minutes from BriarLake Plaza. Most business centers were between 7 and 25 minutes from BriarLake Plaza, except for Hobby Airport, which was approximately 30 minutes away.
