Traffic Engineering:
FM 2410 Traffic Signal Design and Corridor Traffic Study,
Bell County, TX
The Waco District of the Texas Department of Transportation retained Brown & Gay Engineers to perform a traffic engineering study of the FM 2410 (Knight's Way) corridor in the City of Harker Heights in Bell County. The study corridor is five lanes in width and approximately 2.5 miles in length and runs from Ann Blvd. to Cedar Knob Road. This study included a traffic signal warrant analysis for five intersections, a travel time study, an accident analysis at the intersections within the study corridor, a PASSER V analysis of the study corridor to determine optimal spacing and timings of existing and future traffic signals along FM 2410 and a summary of the machine and turning movement counts conducted at key intersections within the study corridor. In addition, three traffic signals were designed along this corridor that warranted traffic signals and fit within the spacing for optimal timing progression along the corridor.
