Public Works Engineering:
Throckmorton Bolen Sewer Interceptor Replacement,
McKinney, TX
Brown & Gay Engineers designed the replacement of approximately 3,000 linear feet of old 12-inch VC sewer line with 15-inch PVC and replacement of a 12-inch DI aerial crossing. Initially the project was to include replacing 1,000 linear feet of 12-inch VC line adjacent to a tributary of the Trinity River next to the stream bank and in the back yard of six homes. Instead, the new sewer line was relocated down the street in front of the homes and combined with a neighborhood renewal project that included replacing the existing sewer line in the street. Combining the projects resulted in over $100,000 savings with the additional benefit of not having to obtain easement through residents' back yards to install the new line.
